AlCapone AlCapone was Alcatraz’s most famous prisoner.
Alcatraz size and the distance to land  There is about 1.4 miles of water in between Alcatraz and California. Alcatraz island is 0.0344 square miles.
The Prison The Alcatraz prison has over 600 prison cells. Alcatraz prison cells. Inside the prison cells.
Escape Many people have tried to escape it has never happened !
Wardens There has been four wardens of Alcatraz. James Johnston , Edwin Swope , Paul Madigan , and Olin Blackwell.
Years of Alcatraz  Alcatraz was a prison From 1933 to 1963 . so that’s 30 years . I looked up why Alcatraz closed but I couldn’t find it .
Discovery  Sir Francis Drake was the one to discover Alcatraz Island .When he saw the island he had no idea that this island would become a famous prison. Sir Francis Drake’ ship
Alcatraz construction In 1846 John C. Fremont bought the island for $5,000  from Julia Workman. Julia Workman got the island because Mexican governor Pio Pico gave it to her .
What I Think If I ever got a chance to take a tour into Alcatraz you will see me there . I think you should do the same. Before I end this think to yourself what if I was a criminal in the 1950s and I was imprisoned in Alcatraz would I be getting out any time soon . The end.
