Scope of practice is define by what
a medical assistant can do
according to sate and in general.
In some sates a M.A. cannot
administer injections (N.Y.).
A M.A. may not prepare an IV
(intravenous therapy) in FL for a
patient.
Knowing hat is expected of a
professional according to profession.
Example: a M.A. is never to diagnose
a patient, that is the responsibility of
the physician.
M.A. general responsibilities are as
follow: vitals, EKG, venipuncture,
urinalysis, EHR, etc…
