My design process is comprised of 6 stages; Define > Research > Analyze > Ideate > Prototype > Test. Research, ideate and test are divergent stages which include extensive data collection, non-judgmental brainstorming and broad scope. Define, analyze and prototype are convergent stages, which seek to define the problem, process the data and information, and narrow the scope. Though the process seems linear, it is often quite non-linear and iterative in nature.
