Obama gets his mug on Tumblr account "Selfies at Funerals." You can now access all your social media and smartphone alerts from a snazzy piece of jewellery. And Google Glass just got a little less creepy with a new stop-animation video that is actually pretty cool.
3. President Barack Obama has
tentatively joined the ranks of
insolent teenagers everywhere
on Tumblr account “Selfies at
Funerals.”
The account’s owner admits the
link is tenuous, as the selfie was
taken at Nelson Mandela’s
memorial service, not a funeral
exactly.
The U.S Prez poses for the shot
with U.K PM David Cameron
and Denmark’s PM Helle
Thorning Schmidt.
The account’s owner has
declared this selfie-to-end-allselfies the last post on the site
which has garnered significant
media attention for capturing a
moment of contemporary
zeitgeist.
4. Totally looks like Michelle, the First Lady of Epic
Facial Expressions in my book, does not
approve.
5. With this ring I thee wed… myself to all
my incoming smartphone alerts.
6. Mashable have introduced us to the Smarty Ring. A Bluetoothenabled accessory allowing users to check smartphone alerts
and manage calls from the finger.
‘Users can manage the settings for their Smarty Ring from a
mobile app, and can even use the device as a watch, timer or
phone finder. If a user walks more than 9 metres from his
phone, the ring will beep to alert them that they've left
something behind.’
An interesting sartorial choice, but the idea of a wearable
gadget that springs into action when you’ve left your phone
behind is a stroke of genius this writer could definitely do with.
7. The effort to make Google Glass cool
continues, and kind of succeeds.
CATCH: A Handimation through Glass
is a stop-motion short of a surreal
scenario in a cafe.
The film was made over 4 days and
consists of over 1,00 photos and
drawings shot using Google Glass.
For the first time ever I kind of think
Google Glass might not be solely for
this guy...
