Two books i.e. Blue and Maroon choose
one. Why have you chosen it?
Life is about choice and you can not make
choice without taking a decision. In some
cases, some people make choice based
on appearance and yet appearances and
first impressions are not always accurate!
3. ContCont
We are often informed of wrong choices, and
told of the inevitable consequences. And this
kind of statement is repeated twice in
Proverbs 14:12 & Proverbs 16:25 that;
"There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way of death.”
You may be completely convinced that a
certain thing is right; you may believe it with
all your heart, sincerely having no doubt that
this thing is correct. But if this thing is a
MISTAKE, you will face horrible
4. ContCont
Thus, your sincerity and certainty will not
stop the consequences. Your opinion that
the path is right does not make it right.
Your sincerity in that erroneous opinion
does not exempt you from the
consequences! You see, there is an
undeviating connection between causes and
their effects; a connection that isn't broken
by one's sincerity.
5. Business IllustrationBusiness Illustration
Suppose you invest your money in some company.
You investigate, and do all kinds of research. You
talk to people you know; you see that the company
has a turn over of large amount of money as the
business is done from day to day. Everything looks
good, so you invest more money in the company
since it looks as if there is no risk! As a result, you
throw in millions of shillings under THE SINCERE
BELIEF that you'll make money. THEN several
unforeseen factors enter in; some eventualities occur
that you couldn't foresee and you loose it all! This
implies that, sincerity doesn't stop consequences!
6. ContCont
Your belief that the PATH IS RIGHT does
not make it right. So, as Christians let us take
no comfort in the sincerity we may have, with
respect to some questionable path we have
taken. In our community, there are people
who are walking down a pathway they are not
certain of ... When that uncertainty or doubt
enters their minds, they immediately dismiss
those thoughts saying to themselves, “BUT,
I'M SINCERE”.
7. ContCont
Brothers and sisters in Christ, if you are walking down
the wrong path; if you are going in the wrong
direction don't be comforted by your sincerity.
Because, sincerity doesn't stop consequences. There
is a law, that effects follow causes, and sincerity
doesn't cancel the law! Similarly, there is a way that
seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death,
Proverbs 14:12. Therefore, the fact that it seems
right doesn't cancel the death at the end of the path.
The best is to ask the Lord for the right path. The
Bible tell us in Jeremiah 42:3 that, “The LORD
your God will tell us where we should go and what
we should do”
8. How Do you Distinguish betweenHow Do you Distinguish between
the Right way and the Wrong way?the Right way and the Wrong way?
The Right Way
The right way is not a natural way, Jeremiah 10:23,
1 Corinthians 2:14
The right way is determined and taught by God, Psalm 25:8-
12, Proverbs 6:23, Jeremiah 10:2 .
The right way requires faith, Isaiah 55:8-9, 2 Corinthians
5:7
The right way contains tests, difficulties and diversions,
Deuteronomy 8:2, Judges 2:21-22
The right way is the only way that leads to the right
destination, Deuteronomy 11:26-28, Ezekiel 33:20, Matthew
7:13-14
9. ContCont
The Wrong Way
The wrong way contains many options, Proverbs
14:12
It doesn't take long to find yourself going the
wrong way, Exodus 32:7-8
The wrong way is filled with confusion and
constant change, Psalm 146:9, Proverbs 4:19,
Isaiah 30:21-22
10. ConclusionConclusion
Brothers and sisters in Christ, we cannot depend upon
what seems right to man. We must place our trust in
what is right, to God. For there is a way that seems right
to a man, but its end is the way of death. I now ask you
to examine yourself on the following:
What pathway are you following today?
Are you sure that pathway is right?
There is a way that is right, and cannot be wrong. There is
a pathway, that leads to all the Spiritual Blessings you
need and that is the road that leads to heaven. Jesus said,
"I am the way, the truth, and the life. no one comes to
the father, except through me," John 14:6. Please,
examine the pathway you are on now, and make a
change if you need to.
