1. Target Audience- Crime/Thriller
There is a big age range of people bother gender that enjoy watching these crime
Genre Film. Crime dramas usually attract both genders male and female. The male’s
interest the females as the males are stereotypically involved in the crime and the
female actresses attract males as usually in these films the female actresses are
usually very attractive. This would play a big part in them watching the film. They
normally have an age certificate of around the 15 age range so this is where the
target age begins from. Not only is It the younger generation that are fond of these
films they can also and most likely attract the older generations too aging around the
40 mark. So therefore the target audience for most crime dramas is both male and
female aged 15-40.
I am also going to focus on thriller to as this is something I am going to include in
my opening. Thriller films interest mainly young adults as they find the plots
interesting as they enjoy the suspense and mystery. Thriller films usually have an age
certificate of also the 15 years range due too the content and subjects of the film
being violent and slightly frightening. Thrillers appeal to both genders male and
female. Males are attracted to these sorts of films due to the scenes of violence and
gore and features of suspense and speed. Whereas females are more attracted to the
fact these thriller films play questions in the minds of the audience with allows them
to want to know what happens next.
The fact that I have looked at both of these dramas was allowing myself to be able to
create the perfect target audience for my film as I am going to initially use bother
thriller and crime genres in my film. I have done this so I can target the right
audience so that audiences in my range will be attracted to my film and hopefully
watch it.
I have decided I am going to have an age range of 15-30 as my age range this is
because this is combining the bother thriller and crime ages together. The fact I have
brought it down to 30 instead of 40 (like the crime films) is due to the fact thrillers
attract a slightly younger audience so I believe this age range will appeal to the
perfect audience for my opening. This is also good because hopefully my audience
will need to be interested in both crime and thriller as this is what I am combining.
However I think that this will be fine because usually people that enjoy one of these
almost certainly like the other.
I have also decided that the audience is going to be for bother male and female. This
is because after researching the crime and thriller Target audiences they both seem
to appeal to both male and female audiences. So it would only make sense if I
targeted both male and female.
2. So My Target audience is going to be male and female aged 15-30.
