Corporate Wellness: Planning and Implementing An Efficient
Employee Wellness Program
Worker Wellness Programs are being implemented to promote health among employees.
Wellness programs are used by businesses as a way to boost productivity and morale while,
falling health care costs, absenteeism and presenteeism. Businesses small and large are
easing programs and actions that focus on wellness care and preventive health. Employers
will also be working to improve employees' quality of life and caliber of work.
These programs range between lunch and learn sessions and nutrition consulting that is
personal, to providing fitness studios and quiet rooms. Employees are inspired to engage
through tactical marketing (permitting employee participation in planning) and
acknowledgement. Employees track improvement in many areas including blood glucose,
blood pressure, body mass index, eating habits, physical activity level, and use of stress
management techniques. Data is gathered through testing and reporting.
Corporate wellness program design includes the following measures:
1. Identifying employee health conditions and demands - This may be learned/discovered
by analyzing business data like health and conducting health risk appraisals on employees
care costs, speed of employee absenteeism and its general affect on business's workers'
compensation claims. National health data can also be used and compared to general
employee demographics to obtain common health needs places.
2. Assessing employee willingness to be involved within an employee wellness program-
This is achieved by assembling information in the kind of a survey times for application
implementation and system areas that employees would prefer.
3. Preparation and presenting the program layout- Share application processes and format
with business stakeholders, managers and decision makers for support and buy in. Be sure
to highlight how a system will benefit the bottom line of the company's. Concentrate on
system and mission goals. Include a budget that is planned. Work in wellness screening
procedures and assessment methods.
4. Implementing a marketing campaign and EWPs- Advertising can include paycheck
stuffers, poster flyers, as well as a health fair rally or kick off. Programming can demand
