SUBJECT: John G. Vareldzis
John G. Vareldzis performed as a Contract Specialist, GS-1102-12, for the Materials Acquisition
Group in Supply Chain Services, at the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). He served
faithfully for four years, ending in September 2014.
Mr. Vareldzis’ work assignments included every aspect of the Federal Procurement Process:
Preparing Solicitations, convening Preproposal Conferences, Proposal Review and Evaluation,
Negotiations, Contract Awards, Pre-work/Pre-construction meetings, Contract Administration
(modifications), and Contract Close-out. Specifically, he purchased Information Technology,
Telecommunications, Test Equipment, and Lighting (Energy Efficiency) Products.
Mr. Vareldzis performed his work diligently, and was recognized by management, his peers, and
client groups for his commitment to quality, compliance with regulations and policies, and his
value-added mission support toward BPA’s mantra, to ‘keep the lights on.’
Mr. Vareldzis’ achievements and contributions have significantly benefited his workgroup,
Supply Chain Services, and the Bonneville Power Administration.
