Cover Lines
The cover lines are the writing
around the main image that give
an indication of what the main
story is about. The name of the
celebrity is in a bold, capital font
and the content is displayed
below to give the reader an idea
of what the main article will be.
Content
Other featured articles are
displayed along the left hand side
of the cover. In the shaded area
the white stands out so it is easier
to read and the plum is used to
highlight the ‘puff’ (content that will
encourage the reader to buy the
magazine). These sections are
also increased in size and the font
is more bold.
Exclusives also act as a puff. They
imply that you will not find out this
information anywhere else and that
you will find out more about
different celebrities that relate to the
theme of the magazine.
Exclusives
Masthead
The masthead of the magazine is in
bold capital font in a plum colour to
attract a more sophisticated
audience. The title of the magazine
is in front of the image as it is the
focus point of the magazine
however a banner across the
corner also attracts attention. The
font is plum and bold because, it is
associated with a more ‘glamorous’
female audience.
The celebrity on the cover of this
magazine was photographed
sideways on and close up so the fact
that she is airbrushed removes any
imperfections which appeal to a
female audience again.
Airbrush
An inspirational or influential figure
on the front cover of a magazine is
a key point in attracting the target
audience. A young, fashion icon
such as Emma Watson will appeal
to young girls and the black and
white shot makes it seem more
focused on the fashion.
Aspiration
The target audience of the
magazine is young female adults
that have an interest in celebrity
and fashion. The font, content and
even the chosen celebrity on the
front page are all chosen depending
on the target audience.
Target Audience
Extra Details
Other details on the magazine are a
barcode and also a website link for
the magazine to give the reader the
impression that the magazine ‘brand’
is well known and established.
