This document discusses the Global Internship Programme (GIP) flow and strategies for improvement. It describes the key stages as preparation, recruitment, exchange, and reintegration. Segmentation and supply/demand analysis are presented as important tools to match students and companies. The importance of analyzing the market and raising programs only what can be matched is emphasized. Finally, customizing products for customer segments, focusing marketing and sales, and showcasing impact are proposed as a customer segment-based strategy to grow GIP.
The Missouri Compromise of 1820 addressed the issue of balancing the number of slave and free states in the United States. It allowed Missouri to enter the Union as a slave state and Maine as a free state, maintaining the balance of 12 slave and 12 free states. It also drew a line at the 36°30' parallel, stipulating that any new states north of this line would be free and any south would be slave states. However, the compromise did not resolve the underlying disagreements and tensions over the issues of slavery and states' rights.
Nathaniel Bacon was a wealthy colonist in Virginia who led a rebellion against the colony's governor in 1674. He gathered 400-500 men to attack local Indian tribes after citizens protested that the Indians should be moved or killed from frontier lands. The rebellion started when a group of militiamen raided Indian camps and killed 30 people. Bacon died of illness in 1676, ending the rebellion. The governor regained power by executing 23 rebel men.

Bacon's Rebellion occurred in 1676 in Virginia where farmers were upset that Indians were taking their land and a farmer was murdered. This led to a rebellion against the governor who refused the farmers' demands, resulting in a war where Jamestown was set on fire. The rebellion grew so large that it left the governor sick and near death.
The Missouri Compromise of 1820 sought to balance the number of slave and free states admitted to the Union. It allowed Missouri to enter as a slave state and Maine as a free state. Additionally, it prohibited slavery in former Louisiana Territory north of the parallel 36°30' north, except within Missouri. This temporarily resolved conflicts between pro-slavery and anti-slavery factions in Congress over expanding slavery into new western territories. The compromise was later repealed by the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854.

The Missouri Compromise was the result of the first debate in Congress concerning the spread of slavery, occurring in 1819-1820. When Missouri applied for admission into the Union, many in Congress objected to Missouri's admission as a slave state, supporting the Tallmadge Amendment that would have made gradual emancipation a condition for admission. When the Senate and the House could not agree on whether to pass the bill with or without the Tallmadge Amendment (the slave states had more influence in the Senate), Henry Clay proposed a compromise that brought Missouri into the Union as a slave state on the condition that Maine also be brought in as a free state and that all territories in the Louisiana Purchase north of the 36˚30 parallel be closed to slavery.
While many congratulated Henry Clay on a job well done, Thomas Jefferson worried greatly from his retirement at Monticello. He believed that the Missouri debate would only be the first of several debates regarding slavery and its expansion. While an opponent of the idea of slavery in the abstract, he did not see a path toward a practical end of slavery in the immediate future. With Jefferson's predictions coming true and the period between 1820-1860 being filled with debates concerning slavery, historians have often placed the Missouri Compromise at the beginning of the Antebellum (Before the War) Period.
