zation (ISO) and International Electrotech-
nical Commission (IEC) have decided to ex-
ceptionally provide free access (read only) to
a series of very important (for the cause) In-
ternational Standards.
The majority of these standards are more of a
technical nature. In recognition however of
the vital role and benefits that Management
System Standards have, ISO is making freely
available (read only) the following :
• ISO 22301:2019, Security and resilience
– Business continuity management systems
–Requirements
• ISO 31000:2018, Risk management – Guidelines
• ISO 13485:2016, Medical devices — Quality management systems - Re-
quirements for regulatory purposes
The Business continuity management systems standard (ISO 22301:2019) is
once more recognized as being one of the most important management sys-
tems standards of our era. Not only it addresses the continuity of businesses
in general – but it actively supports the continuity of business life – with the
obvious positive effect on human lives.
In the same context, additional standards of the ‘Security and resilience’ fam-
ily of standards are also being made freely available by ISO:
• ISO 22316:2017, Security and resilience – Organizational resilience –
Principles and attributes
• ISO 22320:2018, Security and resilience – Emergency management –
Guidelines for incident management
• ISO 22395:2018, Security and resilience – Community resilience – Guide-
lines for supporting vulnerable persons in an emergency
