QAWorks have a structured career path where each job grade has a defined set of skills and
experiences. Regular reviews and feedback ensure all employees are aware of targets and expectations
for promotion. Our career path is defined as follows:
Apprentice
Test Engineer
Senior Test Engineer
Lead Test Engineer
Test Manager
Practice Manager
Although we specialise in testing, we do have other people that are integral to our continued success.

- 3. Who does QAWorks look for?
With the exception of the apprentice job grade, QAWorks prefer applicants who can demonstrate the
following experience and traits;
Degree educated (Computer science or related preferred)
Programming experience (Object Orientated – Java, Ruby, .Net etc.)
Passion for innovation
Charismatic personality
Specific skills may from time to time be required, but as a rule we are interested in applicants who
bring expertise and knowledge of:
BDD
Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Map Reduce
Test Automation using open source tools such as Selenium, Appium and Calabash
Performance testing of both web and mobile technologies

- 6. What will the recruitment process be?
Our interview process is very straightforward. Although it can vary from role to role the typical process
and timescales are:
Phone Interview
First Round Interview
You will be typically be interviewed by at least two QAWorks staff, one of whom will be part of the
Management Team
Dependent on the role it is likely you will sit a technical test or be given a challenge to complete
For some roles a second interview may be required
You will be interviewed by additional members of the Management Team
On average the entire process takes two weeks. External influences (notably client decisions and
candidate time pressures) can prolong or shorten the process. Clear communication will ensure both
parties are kept informed and happy.
