One of my favorite genres is rap. It's not something new but it never grows old! This
could also be the reason why a lot of artists are exploring the rap music. Yes, because the
demand is hot.
We can also see that there are growing numbers of rapper every year. If you are among
those aspiring rappers that wish to join the community and be an idol of some sort, you
will first need to learn how to make your own music beats.
The path to become a rapper is not going to be easy but with the right tools, nothing is
able to stop you. If you have talent in this, then good. If you don't, don't fret over it as
that is not compulsory. With the invention of beat making software, even a complete
beginner can start to make original hot beats. And it won't take you weeks or months to
learn like the conventional instruments.
What I would recommend you to do is to listen to a lot of rap songs and identify the
music elements that made up the song - the drum pattern, the kick, snare and
percussions. You are not going to copy the beats but to emulate the music elements
within. Say, if you found a certain snare drum to be what arouse you, then emulate it.
You can learn a lot by listening to these established rappers. One more important thing
to look for is the timing. The common time for rap music is 4/4 but try to notice if you
can find anything uncommon and new and yet grooving you everytime you hear it.
