he FBM KLCI index gained 6.16 points or 0.36% on Wednesday. The Finance Index increased 0.29% to
15500.45 points, the Properties Index up 0.19% to 1207.19 points and the Plantation Index rose
0.28% to 7487.78 points. The market traded within a range of 5.13 points between an intra-day high
of 1727.26 and a low of 1722.13 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include KINSTEL, CHINA50-H2, CHINA50-H1, WCT-OR, HSI-HD, CHINA50-C1,
DIGI, SKPRES-WA, HSI-CT and APFT. Trading volume decreased to 1306.77 mil shares worth
RM1695.60 mil as compared to Tuesday’s 1479.68 mil shares worth RM1687.31 mil.
Leading Movers were HLFG (+62 sen to RM15.90), WPRTS (+13 sen to RM4.43), BAT (+134 sen to
RM65.34), YTL (+3 sen to RM1.60) and SKPETRO (+4 sen to RM2.36). Lagging Movers were DIGI (-15
sen to RM5.40), ASTRO (-5 sen to RM2.97), UMW (-8 sen to RM10.12), GENM (-3 sen to RM4.20) and
TM (-1 sen to RM6.69). Market breadth was positive with 376 gainers as compared to 353 losers.
The day ended with the KLCI closing higher at 1727.26 points, amid overnight positive performance in
Wall Street. The performance of our benchmark index was lifted by gains in heavyweight counters led
by HLFG and Westports.
