  2. 2. RATIONALE Explanation This picture shows a very big problem. This shows how floods have affected shops in parts of Singapore. And we intend to stop this.

  5. 5. OUR AIMOur aims for this project is to provide Cost effective Convenient Long lasting“Real” flood protection for shops.
  6. 6. CURRENT SOLUTIONS Sandbags=Not effective Why?  Hard to set up (Time consuming, requires more manpower  Water can still seep through Sandbags
  7. 7. CURRENT SOLUTIONS Waterwall=Not the best Why?  Costly  Hard to install  Takes time to keepWaterwall Flood Prevention
  8. 8. CURRENT SOLUTIONS Floodgates=Not the best Why?  Costly ($90,000)  Hard to install in shopping centreFloodgates at Tessarina Condo One of our group members, Edmund, lives at Tessarina and had experienced numerous floods in his basement carpark.
