I was born in Minsk, Byelorussia, USSR, in 1981. I received the Specialist degree in theoretical physics from Byelorussian State University in 2004 (winning the national best thesis award) and the PhD degree from the Technical University of Denmark (Department of Photonics Engineering) in 2008. My h-index is 5. From 2005 I was applying the concepts of what is known today as transformation optics to enhance the numerical performance of the finite-difference frequency-domain and time-domain algorithms for modeling light behavior in complex plasmonic, photonic-band-gap and metamaterial structures.
