Did we mention register for work includes an in person visit to MWA?
11/21/19 9
Prior to starting presentation, ask questions to identify who is in the audience. Have your filed prior? What barriers did you run into? All new, computer literate?
Take a minute to help audience feel secure…MIDAS improvements continue. Fraud under control but will always have fraudsters. Help with distinction between MIWAM and MILOGIN. Ask questions to get them thinking about whether they have a MILOGIN (may need to update password…every 12 months).
MiLOGIN will connect your reemployment portal (PMTC) with unemployment portal (MiWAM). If you do not have MiWAM (filed over the phone, in person) you will not have a MiLOGIN.
If possible, go live to www.Michigan.gov/uia to show where to find info
Distribute FS 160. Explain why it is helpful.
Mention MiLogin and that Login changed November 2018. claimants may have other MiLogin accounts with other agencies
Refer customers to the UIA website where they will locate MiWAM.
Payment options Debit or direct deposit (FS 160 has space to put account info.) . Debit card owned by Bank of American, not UI.
Explain when income information may be required…after the end of a quarter prior to employers entering wage record data. If they do not see an employer show up when filing.
These are areas where claimants tend to struggle. Explain without getting too much into the weeds.
If they do not see an employer, walk through how to add an employer.
Register for work is required by law unless employees have a waiver. Talk about how the MWA is the connection to reemployment services.
Have a 1583 on hand to demonstrate. Mention LinkedIn work search
Inform audience that you will be available to ago over the individual circumstances after presentation. Refer to the UI home page to find fact sheets for each .
