HCPs discussing artificial pancreas: HCPs waited for the release of Medtronic’s MiniMed 670G with excited anticipation. During the release there was still an overall enthusiasm towards the product, however after release, HCPs agreed that MiniMed 670G did not meet their expectations. HCPs discussing growing human pancreas in pigs: The recent developments in controversial stem cell research received mixed sentiment with some HCPs intrigued and excited, whilst others remained cautious. This topic received a smaller share of the conversation than Medtronic. Diabetes drug classes: In the context of T1D and T2D Diabetes combined, the biguanide Metformin took up the largest share of voice where topics included weight issues relating to the product. Discussion of insulin therapies: The insulin therapy Lotus made up almost half of the all insulin therapy conversation. It was mostly discussed in relation to other insulin products.

Metformin is the only biguanide available on the market. The discussion surrounding metformin seen above was to do with the benefits of the drug and how it helps pertaining to weight.
