Further on every tank
Using less fuel reduces consumers’fuel costs and environmental
impact of fuels. The Canadian Fuels Association is committed
to helping all Canadians get more value from the fuels
they purchase.
Our members work with other stakeholders to support initiatives that
promote more efficient and more environmentally sustainable use of
transportation fuels.
In one project, a Canadian Fuels member supported a team that set
a world record for fuel-efficiency by driving across Canada on less
than five tanks of gasoline. Canadian Fuels members have also funded
organizations operating programs that retire older vehicles and
motorized equipment that are not fuel efficient.
Our members provide a variety of resources in print and online that
describe the benefits of fuel efficiency and provide Canadians with
strategies to reduce the amount of fuel they consume.
Our members also participate in Quality Urban Energy Systems of
Tomorrow (QUEST), a not-for-profit organization that researches and
teaches Canadians and policy makers about integrated community
energy systems (ICES).
With ICES, communities are
planned in ways that make
energy use —including for
transportation — optimally
efficient. A community that
embraces ICES converts its waste
to energy, builds homes that
produce as much energy as they
consume, and embraces efficient
new standards for land-use and
transportation planning.
