Everyone’s insurance is different and is
based solely on what your employer has
negotiated with the dental plan. Your dental
health plays no factor in this decision.

20. “Why is my breath so bad?”
Halitosis effects many people
and has a number of causes.
Here’s what you can do about it:

 Use an alcohol free antibacterial rinse
 Ask your hygienist for more tips

They do not !

25. “Do you accept payment
from my plan?”
We do accept assignment of benefits from most
dental plans. This means they pay us directly.

Exceptions to this are:

 Plans that disallow it (i.e. CIBC & RBC)
 Lack of information about the plan

in one day?”

Good question!
Dental insurance is more similar
to auto insurance than it is to your
medical coverage.

39. “Why do I have to wear a
night guard?”
If you grind and clench your teeth,
they suffer damage from bruxism.
Wearing a night guard can save you

When more that 50% of your tooth

 Put your child to bed with WATER only
NEVER milk or juice

51. The Dental Exam
It’s more that just a “check-up”
Your dentist will look at many
things during your exam.

 Your medical history
 Conditions or medication that could impact your dental
health or how we care for you
 The condition of your teeth: decay, failing restorations,
unusual wear

 Your gums – to look for periodontal
disease which could lead to tooth loss
 Your soft tissue to rule out cancer
or irregular growths

54. “Why do I need x-rays?”
Dental x-rays allow
your dentist to see
a multitude of things
that can’t be seen
with direct vision.

 Decay between your teeth or below your fillings
 Bone loss from gum disease
 Infections, cysts and tumors in your jaw bone
 Developmental abnormalities
