Welcome to Istanbul! This magical, many faceted city has
numerous stories to tell. Throughout history it has been a very impor-
tant city due to its strategic location. It has alternately been the home
of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. As such, it is a blend of
many cultures, flavours and melodies reflecting its cosmopolitan
character. Istanbul is unique in that it is a city separated into two
continents and bounded by two seas. Its long history means that it is
now a combination of European and Middle Eastern cultures, bridging
the east and the west. It is the ideal destination for all kinds of
travelers. Whether you want to lose yourself in its history, sample the
delights of its cuisine or acquire some traditional Turkish products, this is
the perfect location. With approximately 14.000.000 inhabitants it is
an ever-evolving city and ranks as the educational, commercial and
cultural hub of Turkey.
IstanbulFind is a tourist media network, it is here to help you discover
Istanbul and make the most of your stay. Its visual guide can be viewed
through its website, tourist offices/agencies, hotels and other social
networks and aims to deliver all the information you are likely to need.
In addition we have prepared this booklet, which we hope you will find
useful, to guide you through your trip. We at IstanbulFind wish you a
happy and unforgettable visit to this wonderful city.
