2. FOREWORD

In December 2011 a continuation of the international talks on Global Warming was
continued in Durban, called Cop 17, at which time it appeared that the accent fell on
the approach of the represented countries relative to others not involved in the
movement to support the initiative.

At the Copenhagen Congress held to highlight the plight of the world with regard to
Global Warming, one of the leaders to categorically state his support for the
reduction of Greenhouse gases, was the South African President, Mr. Jacob Zuma.

President Jacob Zuma’s support for the endeavor was viewed by some as over
confident and not achievable due to the quantified target to which he committed
himself . The question is: “Should he be a continued target for these critics, or has
the time arrived for every executive businessman who is dependant on some form of
power, creating a distinct carbon footprint, to come forward and declare his
willingness to cooperate in this drive to reduce these greenhouse gas emissions?”
