Enzymes can be proteins that speed up chemical reactions while lowering the energy required for that certain reaction to occur efficiently. Our part of the experiment consisted on making a calibration curve, and testing some samples on the spectrometer. Afterwards we tested absorbance values for our standard curve, all being positive and ascending, meaning a good curve. Using this curve we tested the biofuel samples and calculated the amount of p-Nitrophenol produced by each biofuel at a 410nm absorbance value at different temperature. The results are as followed: at 0°C no p-Nitrophenol was produced, at around 22°C (room temperature) the sample produced about 75 nmol of p-Nitrophenol, and finally at 37°C around 150 nmol of p-Nitrophenol was produced. <br />
