IMPORTANCE OF SCADA

Scadaprocessesincludeindustrial,infrastructure,andfacility-basedprocesses,asdescribedbelow:

Industrialprocessesincludethoseofmanufacturing, production,powergeneration,fabrication,andrefining,andmayrunincontinuous,batch,repetitive,ordiscretemodes.

Infrastructureprocessesmaybepublicorprivate,andincludewatertreatmentanddistribution,wastewatercollectionandtreatment,oilandgaspipelines,electricalpowertransmissionanddistribution,windfarms,civildefensesirensystems, andlargecommunicationsystems.

Facilityprocessesoccurbothinpublicfacilitiesandprivateones, includingbuildings,airports,ships,andspacestations.Theymonitorandcontrolheating,ventilation,andairconditioningsystems(HVAC),access,andenergyconsumption.
