Nasrettin Hodja and the DragonOnce upon a time, there was a hugegreen dragon living near the mountain inthe darkest cave. It was incrediblymodern and polite one, but sometimes itwas getting as cunning as a fox.
Near the cave of dragon, therewas the house of Hodja, who wasvery wise and known as thefunniest person of all the world.
One day, Hodja goes to the dragoncave and ask for a pot to cook hismeal. The dragon hesitates at firstbut gives the pot to Hodja.
Hodja gets the pot and uses it for oneweek. After one week, when the dragoncomes for his pot, Hodja tells him that Potgave birth to a little pot during the week.The Dragon couldn’t believe it but it wasgood for him so he takes both of the potsfrom Hodja and goes back to his cave withpleasure.
The time passes quickly and one month later, Hodja goes to cavefor pot one more time. The dragon gives it withouthesitation, because last time it gets two pots. The Hodja goesback to home. The Dragon waits for the pot one week but therewas no pot. Two weeks: no pot. Three weeks: no pot. Finally, Hecouldn’t wait and decides to ask for it to Hodja. When he asks forthe pot, this conversation takes place:Hodja: I am sorry my dear neighbour. Your pot has died.Dragon: What do you say, Hodja? How can a pot die? It is notalive.Hodja: If you believe that it can give birth to another one, so whydon’t you believe that it can die as well?
