- What´s the difference between the accesibility of your personal finance data and healthcare information? What would happen if one day you are on vacation and you try to withdraw cash from an ATM other than your usual bank and you are not able to get it, because the bank doesn´t recognize you? It would be unbelievable for you, because you are used to having access to your money at any time, in any place, on any device. It is there when you need it.
- But what happens if you are abroad and you have an accident. You would need to go to a hospital that is not the one that you are use to, There is a good possibility that they wont have your health details so you´ll probably need to undergo through a multiple of tests and scans because they don’t have any access to your health records , YOUR health information is not yours and you cannot use it whenever you need it.
- WE NEED TO CHANGE THE WAY WE MANAGE PATIENT INFORMATION How many of you can speak two languages? (rise hands) And twenty? Developers (contrary to what it may seem) are humans, so it’s impossible for them to have in depth knowledge of twenty different constantly evolving technologies. The simple fact is that it is very expensive (in time and labor) to develop healthcare software from scratch. What can we do?
- I don’t know but as a hospital I need to have digital signatures, handwriting and voice recognition, interact with devices, advanced analytics,.. And most importantly I need to have all the information accessible anywhere, anytime. I’ve tried this before and once I deployed the application its already outdated so I have to start all over again (the developers circle of life, I guess). If you think this is a bad situation, don´t even consider talking about the costs implications..
- Don´t worry about standards, technologies, or devices… the only thing you should worry about is managing health information In our research we are developing platform that is able to integrate, update and change all the technologies that you need in an instantaneus and transparent way.
- I don´t want to be bothered about technologies, all I care about is patients and data. So does it mean that if I need a new health application I just have to consider the requirements of the department?

The framework that we are developing in our research, is a widely open platform that not only integrates standard devices and technologies, but it also allows you to exchange medical data safely between the patient and the clinic, between clinics or even health care systems. For us, it is very important to empower patients, so we make possible for them to have direct access to their data if needed.
- The first trials have been done in Spain, our developers updated a cardiology information system from the ground up in less than six months, ultimately improving its data quality. It also pushes the research of new diseases or treatments a step further. At present we are working on an insuline dose calculator which is estimated to be completed in less than a month. Let’s join forces between devices, wearables, and most importantly, doctors and patients. All together we can build the best and most efficient health care system ever.
