ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL AUTHOR
"I would like to share my appreciation and recognition for Adriana Sanford,
who is well known to me in a professional capacity. Dr Sanford and I have
collaborated in trying to achieve a transatlantic homogenization of legislation,
especially in the field of privacy. As Hewlett-Packard’s director and chief
technologist for public sector in EMEA, I have been dealing with the recent
policy agenda of the EU, especially around privacy, safe harbor, and data
protection regulations.
This is a core challenge and opportunity for Europe, the United States, and the
countries of Latin American. Dr. Sanford’s efforts and worldwide mission over
the last decade to deal with conflicting multi-jurisdictional regulatory
frameworks is exceptionally valuable. Our discussions and deeper insights have
led to our joint work on a business ethics book series, where privacy and data
protection have been highlighted. She has a well-deserved reputation as a
great professor and as an outstanding academic scholar, who clearly
understands the importance in a global world to streamline legislation.
My appreciation for her accomplishments is informed by my own experience
as a Chief Technologist within Hewlett Packard Enterprise for the European
Institutions and as a senior technology executive with over 25 years of
experience in this field. It is with this background that I commend her to you as
a strong individual and a great communicator, who has earned respect among
her peers, management and strategists. It is a pleasure to work together." ---
