Ingenieur Phil: over machines, samenwerken,
tegenslagen en succes
Onderzoeker Dick: over abstracties,
beleving en cultuurverkenning
Interpretatieve kennis
Habermas: drie kennisbehoeften:
- instrumentele kennisbehoefte:
verklaren en beheersen, ‘wet van Ohm’.
- interpretatieve kennisbehoefte:
begrijpen, ‘poëzie leert je verliezen’
- emancipatoire kennisbehoefte:
verbeteren

tradition, our intellectual heritage – is heightened when we see this
community as ours rather than nature’s, shaped rather than found; one
among many which men have made” (Richard Rorty)
Functies van verhalen
Verhalen :
- verwoorden van beleving, herbeleving
- structureren
- controleren
- profilering van en door de verteller
- framen ‘de’ werkelijkheid
- re-construeren cultuur
Luisteren naar verhalen
Redenen om te luisteren/lezen/kijken:
- herkenning en identificatie
- behoefte aan een boodschap
- ontsnappen, voor zover mogelijk
Interpretatieve kennisbehoefte
• Centrale thema’s
• Normen en waarden
• Sagen, soaps en scheppingsdrang
• Beleven, begrijpen en beoordelen
