1. Adventures Of A Homebuyer
I’m in the market to buy my first house; my starter home. I recently moved to Los Angeles and found a
job and a temporary place to live. Since I plan on settling my roots here, I’m going to buy a house that is
close to my workplace. The job I landed is located in the San Fernando Valley.
I like the Valley. Sure it’s rather far from all the fun places to explore in the Los Angeles area, but I had to
go to where the job is. It’s also better for me to live in the Valley because I don’t want to fight all the
traffic that goes in that direction.
Like anywhere else in Los Angeles, there are some not so nice places in the Valley and there are many
nice places to live in the Valley. I’ve noticed that the area is pretty much all suburbs and not congested
like central Los Angeles.
Where I’m temporary living is at a friend’s place in Koreatown. It’s a nice area, but I’m not the biggest
fan of living there. As I stated before, the city is crowded. Plus, I don’t feel that it is a very diverse area in
terms of racial ethnic population.
It also is rather dirty. There’s garbage in the streets and dog feces on the grass or sidewalk. It’s definitely
an area where the people think more about themselves than their neighbors around them. The places
that I’ve had experiences with in the San Fernando Valley all felt very homey.
As I mentioned before, it is a suburb so the areas that I’ve been exposed to were rather clean. Also, it
wasn’t as crowded so that attributes to its cleanliness and the absence of dog feces everywhere. Also,
from what I’ve noticed, it seems more diverse amongst people in the population.
I’ve decided to start looking for a house to two areas. I’m looking at Northridge real estate listings. I like
the area and it conforms well to what I like about the Valley and it’s close to work. I’m also looking for
homes in Granada Hills. It’s a little further out from my work place, but I like the area as well.
I decided to use a Northridge real estate agent I found at http://www.toddtrites.com/listings.php.
Todd helped me through the process, and I am happy as can be.
