Taxes are amounts of money that the state receives from people, companies and organizations
for the armed forces, police, education according to economic policy, as well as support for
specific areas such as solving unemployment and poverty, building roads, houses, schools and
hospitals The economy has many other benefits such as oil pipelines and transportation. In the
past, taxes were paid to the state in the form of goods, but now they are charged in the form of
money from the people.
Types of taxes
Direct taxes: The type that takes money directly from the people and in the absence of
money takes something else instead such as corporate profits and corporate products, land,
houses and goods owned by citizens The rich pay more taxes.
Indirect taxes: The state usually collects taxes from people, companies and organizations. All
citizens must pay taxes and mostly use this method to raise money regardless of whether
people can afford to live and have money and it affects their daily lives They do this without
distinction between rich and poor. They do this when the country's economy is deteriorating or
in war.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of taxes?
Benefits: It is an important source of saving money for the necessary time and affects the
economic and social situation of the state that is used for public purposes such as providing the
