1. YURT MAKING WORKSHOPS in the UK
overlooking Fowey River in Cornwall
JUNE-JULY 2011
Experienced international yurt builder Alison McMillan will be running three workshops in
yurt making this year.
This is a rare opportunity to work with Alison in the UK, where she will work with a group
of ten students building a tapered-wall wooden yurt from scratch. Students will learn
about the tools, materials and skills needed to develop and create a finished structure in
six days.
In addition to construction, there is time set apart for Alison's teaching about the ethics,
spirituality of “voluntary simplicity”, history and personal development. All aspects are
intrinsically connected to the process of creating these beautiful structures.
Weekend workshop (participants attend all three weekends):
5pm Friday 10th - lunchtime on Sunday 12th June
5pm Friday 24th - lunchtime on Sunday 26th June
5pm Friday 15th - lunchtime on Sunday 17th July
Full week workshops:
5pm Sunday 12th - lunchtime on Saturday 18th June
5pm Sunday 2nd - lunchtime on Saturday 9th July
Cost:
Workshop alone £240.00
Workshop and Camping £350.00 including supper
(breakfast & lunch by arrangement)
