Israel agreed to a ceasefire but resumed bombing Gaza within hours after Palestinian militants continued launching rockets. Despite the announcement of the ceasefire, over 100 rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza, causing no casualties but undermining chances for a truce. In response to the rocket attacks and at the insistence of Israeli military leaders, Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered warplanes to attack thirty positions in Gaza, including civilian homes, resulting in the demolition of a building and displacement of three Palestinian families.
