3. About Industry
• The market for long term securities like bonds, equity stocks and preferred
stocks is divided into primary market and secondary market. Primary
market deals with the new issues of securities. Outstanding securities are
traded in the secondary market, which is commonly known as stock market
or stock exchange.
• Generally the investment principle of high risk high gains, low risk low
gains applies to the stock markets. This is one of the main reasons that
many people turn to seasoned professionals to help them make better
decisions for buying and selling in the share market. Understanding the
share market is vital to your investment strategy. In addition to this, these
professionals also guide you in decision making based on share market
trends, fluctuations and the best times to buy and sell shares.

the amount of money he can invest and the investment options available to

investment decision goes through a five step procedure which is known as
investment process these steps are :
a) Defining the investment objective
b) Analyzing securities
c) Construct a portfolio
d) Evaluate the performance of portfolio
e) Review the portfolio
6. Literature Review
• Hussein A. H, (2007) found that expected corporate earnings, get rich
quickly, stock marketability, past performance of the firm’s stock,
government holdings, and the creation of the organized financial markets
are the investors considerations.
• Cohn et al. (1975) provided tentative evidence that risk aversion decreases
as the investor’s wealth increases, while Riley and Chow showed that risk
aversion decreases not only as wealth increases, but also as age, income
and education increase. This study examined the factors that appear to
exercise the greatest influence on the individual stock investor, and
included not only the factors investigated by previous studies and derived
from prevailing behavioral finance theories, but also introduced additional
factors generated through personal interviews that have been found to
influence the stockholders’ investment decisions.
