What do you already know about chemistry? Let’s find out!
Complete the following on plain white paper. Share all that you know or believe. If you’re not sure
then GUESS!
1. Draw a chemist? Label the parts.
2. Draw the kinds of things that you might expect to find in a chemistry laboratory.
3. What are some of the things that chemists study or explore? Make a list.
4. What are some of the chemicals that you use in your home – in the kitchen, the bathroom,
the garage, other places? What are each of these things used for? A table might be helpful!
5. Imagine that you shrink so small that you can see the little bitty things that all stuff is
composed of. Take photographs of the things you see. Draw a few of those photographs
and label the parts.
