2. The people of India
Are family-centric. The concept of staying with your parents
even after settling down is still held in high regard.
Are Friendly.Always address a stranger by ‘bhaiyya’and ‘didi’
which literally translates to ‘elder brother’and ‘elder sister’
Are hard working.Right from the time when Indians are
enrolled in school they are taught that burning the midnight oil is
required to succeed.
Take calculated risks – Indians believe in following the herd
and doing things algorithmically.
3. ‘Jugaadu’ – always try to work their things around a task in
a less painstaking manner.
Are Religious and superstitious – generally in a
pleasing way.
LOVE water-cooler conversations and giving advice.
Are Condescending – showing superiority to‘getting
things done my way’ is a very common practice.
4. How similar am I
I am more of a rationalist and like to reason .
Not truly religious but I support my folks in whatever little
religious practice they ask me take part in unless it challenges
my core values as an individual.
Being a practitioner ofVipassana Meditation, I am more
spiritual than religious, which is also‘very Indian’.
5. I’ve stayed away from home for 7 years now but whenever I
am home I like being a part of any important religious
practice since it instills in me a sense of belonging.
But otherwise, I am similar to a typical Indian.
Love giving advice and having water-cooler conversations!
