Always been interested in how new technologies (specifically ICT) can contribute to improve our world and the societies we live in ... and how to avoid that they make things worse. Looked at this in various contexts/domains (chronologically, from past to recent times): developing countries (Africa esp. Mozambique; Latin America esp. Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay); regional development in Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Southern Italy); local public administration (e-government); disadvantaged groups in Europe (migrants and ethnic minorities, elderly people, young people at risk of social exclusion). Worked on this as researcher, consultant, project manager and policy advisor.
