Good morning and welcome to StackiFest 17! We are so pleased that you could join us.
This is my first StackiFest and I am very excited to be at StackIQ. Let me tell you why -
There is a revolution taking place in data centers where data is exploding and IT teams are demanding efficiency, speed and performance.
This transformation is led by the adoption of containers, hybrid cloud and big data applications.
Bare metal (and therefore StackIQ) is right in the middle of the innovation because of the tremendous performance benefits it provides to all these deployment – big data, containers and private cloud infrastructure.
Provisioning bare metal infrastructure in not trivial and that is where Stacki excels – deploying bare metal in hours instead of weeks
Take a look at the typical IT stack in a data center environment. Bare metal is ALWAYS included.
While the upper layers of the stack include a combination of configuration management or container management tools, the entire stack is built on bare metal.
all of the innovation in this space is coming from Open Source Community and Stacki is the only innovative Bare Metal offering today.
Innovation applied to the real world makes it all worthwhile! So let me tell you about our adoption metrics on the next slide!
Another reason why I am excited to be at StackIQ are because of these metrics – customer and community adoption at a start up is tough to achieve and a sure indicator of the value of the product and the service the company delivers.
At StackIQ we have over 150 paying customers, the majority of them are Fortune 1000 such as VISA, AMEX, MC, Verizon, Sprint, Flex, etc. Among our users are webscale companies such as Salesforce and Paypal.
Our community has grown at a near linear pace over the last one year – again underscoring the value Stacki offers
Stacki evolved from Rocks, the cluster provisioning project built at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. Two of the developers of Rocks are with StackIQ, steering our product, Stacki. At last count, there are over a million nodes that are under management by Stacki and Rocks!
Many of you in the room helped us achieve these metrics and I want to acknowledge you for being part of our joint success.
Now let’s talk about matters that have direct relevance to your daily activities – what’s new in Satcki!
We are making it easier for you to bring innovation to data centers with our latest updates –
Our new Pallets for Docker and Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes makes it easy and fast for you to deploy and expand containers on bare metal. So now you can have highly performant container deployments without the complexity and manual steps involved in laying out the bare metal layer.
Our new Pallet for Hortonworks makes deploying complex big data clusters a breeze.
Stacki 4.0 is bursting with new platforms support such as SLES 12.0, NetApp and others, and
Stacki Ace brings the powerful bare metal provisioning of Stacki to Raspberry Pis, unlocking brilliant new use cases for Raspberry Pis!
These features are what will fuel the latest innovation in data centers!
