GUIDELINES & SCHEDULE FOR PROJECT WORK
03 FEB 2015
The students of abovementioned programmes are required to follow the guidelines as
mentioned for the project work:
1. The names of the mentors are attached. Two or three students in the form of a
group allocated by the department would take up project as listed in the list as
GH, GF, & GM respectively. Student is not allowed to take up individual
project. Any request for change of group member or allocated faculty mentor
would not be accepted.
2. The students should submit the Synopsis of the Project to their mentors
respectively at least two day before the scheduled date for approval of
synopsis.
3. The students are required to be present for any corrections/suggestions on the
scheduled date as per the timings to be announced. The corrected copy of the
Synopsis under signature from the mentor should be submitted to Dr. (Mrs.)
Vandna Sharma not later than 3 days of the approval.
4. The students should submit the progress report stating the work completed to
the mentor at least two day before the scheduled date for mid-term review.
5. The students will make the presentation of the work completed by them on the
scheduled date as per the timings to be announced.
6. The Project report as per the format must be submitted along with the
corrected copy of the synopsis to Dr. (Mrs.) Vandna Sharma as per the
schedule mentioned below.
7. The project reports will be checked for plagiarism. The students are advised to
cite the reference as per the standard norms (APA referencing style).
8. Projects normally would not be accepted after the schedule date. In
exceptional cases they may be accepted after recommendation from the
mentor and approval of the Committee subject to deduction of marks obtained
by the candidate.

(statistical techniques wherever applicable) should be done. Every table / data should be

11. Guidelines for Report Writing
The guidelines for writing the report detailed in must be adhered to following aspects:
(a) Page Size
Good quality white A4 size executive bond paper should be used for typing and
duplication.
(b) Chapter/Para Numbering
The chapters are to be numbered as Chapter-1, Chapter-2 etc.
The heading/title of the chapter is to appear below the chapter number in uppercase.
Paragraphs are to be numbered as 1, 2, 3 etc in every chapter separately.
Sub-paras are to be numbered as 1.1, 1.2, 1.3----, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3-----etc.
Sub-sub paras are to be numbered as 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, 2.11, 2.12, 2.13 etc.
(c) Page Specifications:
(i) Left Margin: 1.25 inch
(ii) Right Top & Bottom Margin: 1inch
(d) Page Numbers:
All text pages starting from Body of the Project Report should be numbered at the bottom
center of the pages. All pages before chapters (except Front page) should be numbered in
Roman Numbers like I, II, III ….etc. Chapter pages should be numbered as 1,2, 3 etc.

(i) Font Size: 12 for main Text, 14 for Sub Headings. 16 for Main Headings
(ii) Font Style: Times New Roman, Automatic, 1.5 line Spacing, Single Side Writing.

The report should be of covered within 40 to 75 typed pages in 1.5 line space (excluding
Appendices and Bibliography) on A4 size paper with 12 font size.
