#3 The previous model of Microsoft certifications had a three level structure. This model still exists but will be phased out soon. Most probably by mid-next year (2013), But will still provide value to organizations using the technology.
#4 Certifications that were (MCITP, MCTS) focused on individual technologies. Exams were often focused on features. Hence, a wide range of skills and expertise were not tested. For instance, MCITP: Business Intelligence Developer 2008 required just two exams to be certified: an MCTS on Business Intelligence Development and Implementations and MCITP: Business Intelligence Developer 2008. In the real world, when developing a business intelligence solution, one often needs to build a data mart (or warehouse) and optimize, troubleshoot and performance tune it accordingly among a host of other tasks. This requires database development and database administration skills as well. This model simply does not provide for it: You just complete the MCTS and MCITP mentioned above. The candidate is not tested on broader skills and expertise that would be required in a real world scenario.
#5 Current: The need to be up to date in cutting-edge technologies. Microsoft cloud based offerings and related technology and related certs are continuously updated. Hence, there is a requirement of recertification every two or three years depending on the technology.
Broader: Evaluates a broader set of skills and experiences across a technology solution rather than an individual technology
Deeper: Maps to deeper set of skills. Tests advanced skills and understanding of the platform rather than test on features. Raises the bar of expertise.
Recertification ensures that certification holders have their certs up to date by recertifying themselves.

#7 The MCSA is the core level one has to get through to be recognized, however this, according to Microsoft is for individuals getting into their first job with Microsoft technologies. I however feel that employers should consider an MCSA even for those in the first two years working with Microsoft technologies. The MCSE and the MCSD are the “flagship” certifications that an individual should possess in order to demonstrate capabilities as Microsoft expert in their chosen areas.
The MCSA is the core foundation in order to achieve an MCSE. As for the MCSD there is not much information as to whether it would need an MCSA level first. According to what is available on the Microsoft Certification website at this time (2012-July-3) it appears that MCSA is the foundation for only the MCSE and that for the MCSD the core would be a hereto unnamed specialist level equivalent to the MCSA level.
#10 The SQL Server 2008 certification stack had three separate tracks. Testing was focused on specific technology.
You can take SQL Server 2008 exams until July 2013.
#11 MCSA: SQL Server 2012 is the first stage that one needs to get to before continuing with their selected MCSE track(s)
If you note the names of the MCSE certifications, they do not hold a version number unlike the MCSA. Such certifications require that the candidate gets themselves recertified. In the case of SQL Server it is usually every 3 years. This ensures that the candidate stays up to date, and their certificate too is up to date.
#25 “The most easiest method of passing certifications is braindumps” <- a lot of people believe in it and see nothing wrong in it. A lot of them don’t even know that it is cheating. People who use braindumps give various reasons to justify why they use it. Then there are people who study and practice and prove their expertise by passing certifications without using braindumps. Due to braindumps, cheaters fall in the same category as the experts – people who hire them, people who promote them, people who work with them would not know of this. And often the cheaters get rewarded while the experts are left out…
#27 The ideal way to prepare for your certifications is to first choose the exams that you wish to write, and go through the Skills Measured tab of each exam on the Microsoft Certification site. This tab lists the sections from which questions would be presented along with the percentage of the total questions from each section you could expect. Each section gives you a list of areas from which you could expect questions from. Note that if a section contains a list of 15 areas, for example; you would see questions from all 15 or from any of the 15.
Choose the sections (and then the areas) that you are least comfortable with and start preparing on those. Practice well. Read well – even if you do not find study materials or classes to attend; Books Online, Weblogs, Whitepapers and practicing will help you well. Study materials and classroom training only become available a while after the certifications go live.
