With just a few days left for Greece and its creditors to reach a deal, it
appears that an agreement is closer.
Greece has agreed to push back some of its anti-austerity plans in order
to get the financial aid they need to make their debt payments and avoid
default. The Greek government is confident that a deal will be reached in
time.
Its IMF and Central Bank creditors have been trying to negotiate a deal
for months with no results. Now, at the last hour, the pressure is on for
a resolution.

3. Greece has a newly elected government, which promised an anti-
austerity policy for the country; however, they are now having to back
down on some of the promises they made, to try and work out a deal
with their creditors.
The government was hoping for a deal by Sunday, though many of their
lenders are not so sure.
Greece needs to make labour and pension reforms in order to receive
financial aid and it is not clear that these reforms have materialized.

4. The U.S. is pushing for a resolution to the issue, as it could cause
financial unrest throughout many neighbouring countries and possibly
around the globe. The Greek government has stated that there is no
other plan for the country to avoid default, so they are pushing for an
agreement.
Talks are on-going, as the June 3rd deadline approaches. Athens and its
creditors agreed on some issues. Greece will have to achieve low budget
surpluses over the next two years. There is still no agreement yet on
sales taxes.
The final tax will fall in the next few days, answering the question
everyone has been asking. Will they reach a deal in time?
