Advocate Zia Awan is a dedicated human rights lawyer who has been fighting for freedom and social justice since his school days. He leads the NGO 'Lawyers for Human Rights & Legal Aid' and runs a project called 'Madadgaar' to assist women and children in need. Additionally, he collaborates with various organizations such as UNICEF and UNESCO on different initiatives including jail reform and legal education.

Advocate Zia Awan is a lawyer of human rights and
legal aids. He struggle for freedom and human
rights. Much concerned against social injustice since
school days.
He joined the legal fraternity to continue his
mission established and heads an NGO – the
Lawyers for Human Rights & Legal Aid 1989, .
He is running a separate project. ‘Madadgaar’, for
the timely assistance of women and children.
A leading member of several NGO’s including the
Child Care Foundation, Lahore; maintains close
liaison and collaboration with the Edhi Trust;
CPLC; UNICEF; UNESCO; UNESCAP and Action
Aid in Pakistan; actively associated with numerous
related programs including the ‘Jail Reforms
Project’; ’Legal Education Behind the Bars’; para-
legal training, forums and workshops.
