Yu Hiraoka is a 25-year-old Japanese designer based in Milan, Italy. He has a variety of design skills including product, interior, graphic and 3D design. He has a BA from Kobe Design University and an MSc from Politecnico di Milano. Hiraoka has worked on projects for international clients as a freelancer and at design firms in Milan. He is skilled in programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhino and Cinema 4D. Hiraoka has received several awards and his work has been exhibited internationally.

Tomomi and Central Saint Martins Innovation Management Phd. candidate Tsuyoshi Amano presented a joint talk session about our journies to the design innovation industry for University of Arts London Japan society at Central Saint Martins. The talk series is aimed at building UAL’s Japanese creative network. As an innovation design field professional and one of the alumni of the UAL, Tsuyoshi invited Tomomi to join his talk session. Main guest speaker on the talk session was Kinya Tagawa, founder of Takram Tokyo.
Design innovation field is a relatively new and fluid area, where it is hard to imagine how to access, to and what is going on in our industry, even though the topics are repeatedly discussed. Tomomi and Tsuyoshi hope audience can learn about the design innovation industry from our example of professional careers and some examples of our Fjord service design workflow.
