The cutting-plane line indicates the edge view of a cutting plane, revealing internal features of an object, with the viewing direction shown by arrows. There are seven types of sections: full, half, broken-out, revolved, removed, offset, and aligned sections. A short-break line denotes the boundary of a broken-out section, and in a half section, a quarter of the object is imagined to be cut away.
