The letter opposes the implementation of a hunting moratorium in Trinidad & Tobago for several reasons:
1) A moratorium would not address the biggest threats to wildlife like habitat loss from development and pollution.
2) It could increase poaching by drastically increasing wild meat prices.
3) It would not be welcomed by those who enjoy hunting for sport, food, or tradition.
4) Enforcement would be difficult given limited resources and armed poachers in forests.
Instead, the letter recommends alternatives like shortening the hunting season, targeted restrictions, reforestation projects with hunters, and focusing enforcement on protected zones. The goal is to balance wildlife conservation with existing hunting practices.
This document is a structured note pricing study focusing on target redemption notes. It discusses how target redemption notes work, including how one was priced using the Libor market model. Monte Carlo simulation was used to model interest rate dynamics. The study also discusses hedging target redemption notes and analyzes how modifying the note contract would impact its value and average maturity. The goal is to contribute insights for issuers and investors of these products.
Carbon credits are permits that allow the holder to emit one ton of carbon dioxide. They can be awarded to environmental groups that reduce emissions through activities like planting trees. Companies with emissions quotas can purchase carbon credits from groups if they expect to exceed their quotas. Burning fossil fuels is a major source of industrial greenhouse gas emissions for many industries. Carbon dioxide is an important greenhouse gas that has increased in the atmosphere due to human activity and affects the climate. The concept of the carbon credit system was created to help control emissions levels.

Rocks And Whirlpools Bank Strategy 2010 V 2Roger Powell
The document discusses strategies for banks in 2010. It notes that banks face risks from both known "rocks" like regulatory changes as well as unknown "whirlpools" like economic downturns. It emphasizes focusing on positioning versus competitors, maintaining adequate capital levels, and maintaining control over operations, messaging and the future. Key points are that banks are losing share to capital markets, consolidation is increasing competition, and maintaining sufficient capital is critical to survive economic downturns and regulatory changes.

This document defines and describes various shots and camera angles used in filmmaking. A long shot establishes the scene and shows subjects and their surroundings. A medium shot frames subjects from head to waist. A medium close-up is tighter than a medium shot, framing from just above the head to just below the chest. A close-up reveals a character's feelings by framing from just above the head to just below the chin. An extreme close-up often shows details like eyes, mouths, or hands to convey feelings. Other shots include two-shots of two subjects and three-shots of three subjects. Common angles are eye-level, side angles at 45 degrees, low angles shooting upward to exaggerate power, and high

Farmer to-farmer video at the Himalayan Permaculture Centre - photostory - En...weADAPT
Nepal is vulnerable to impacts of climate change as experienced through recurrent natural disasters such as floods, landslides and droughts. Majority of the working population are dependent on agriculture for their livelihood. Subsistence agriculture is often practiced by rural communities who often rely on the climatic conditions and traditional farming practices. In the past years, changes in the climatic conditions such as, warmer winters, interpreted rainfall patterns and warmer temperature have greatly affected agriculture productivity and disrupted the planting seasons leading to crop failure and food shortages.
To build a more resilient community to the impacts of climate change and improve the livelihoods of rural communities in Surkhet region, innovative and creative ways are needed to communicate adaptation action that supports sustainable livelihoods.
The slides and video shared below are part of a Master thesis project that was supported by the Himalayan Permaculture Centre (HPC) and InsightShare. HPC supports rural community livelihoods through the promotion of permaculture techniques. Additionally, HPC promotes sustainable livelihood options such as the use of improved cooking stove, which minimizes risks of respiratory diseases and uses minimal firewood. On the other hand, InsightShare uses participatory video techniques to support trans-formative action.
It is important to note that the video and slides presented below are part of a series of projects within HPC. The main focus of these projects are on permiculture techniques and less on climate adaptation practices. Nevertheless, the tools presented in this video and through the slides provide an insight that could potentially provide inspiration for further development and incorporation of climate adaptation practices for rural communities in Nepal and globally. Therefore, the following video and slideshare incorporates use of participatory video and action research as tools to promote permaculture farming techniques and the use of improved cooking stoves among farmer groups in Surkhet region.
