Pop rock (also typeset as pop/rock) is rock music with a greater emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less
emphasis on attitude. Originating in the 1950s as an alternative to rock and roll, early pop rock was influenced by the beat, arrangements,
and style of rock and roll (and sometimes doo-wop). It may be viewed as a distinct genre field, rather than music that overlaps with pop
and rock. The detractors of pop rock often deride it as a slick, commercial product, less authentic than rock music.

singers and bands, instrumental virtuosity, and a "real connection with the audience".
Simon Frith's analysis of the history of popular music from the 1950s to the 1980s has been criticized by B. J. Moore-Gilbert, who argues
that Frith and other scholars have over-emphasized the role of "rock" in the history of popular music by naming every new genre using the
"rock" suffix. Thus when a folk-oriented style of music developed in the 1960s, Frith terms it "folk rock", and the pop-infused styles of the
1970s were called "pop rock". Moore-Gilbert claims that this approach unfairly puts rock at the apex, and makes every other influence
become an add-on to the central core of rock.

maroon still get my respect and are still a rock band This song along with This Love are my two favorite Maroon 5 songs.
4. Hey, Soul Sister - Train Patrick Monahan has one of the clearest and highest vocals in this decade which makes all Train
music unique. This song has been nominated for Grammy and is one of the first mainstream songs that combined almost all
possible genres in it.
5. Secrets – One republic. Best pop rock band, best pop rock song. One of the best songs ever. Love it!
6. Counting Stars – One republic. This is the song that got me hooked to One Republic and it is so iconic. Think that it is
one which everyone will love because it's, unique and it has a mix of genres combined into one song.
7. Demons - Imagine Dragons this is the only song which I would often hum in my mind.
8. Good Life – One republic kick back to the sound of a good life in 2011. This song has a great whistle hook that is catchy
and fun. Really nice song.
9. Here I Am - Bryan Adams Bryan Adams is one those musicians that beat the time test. Once he was up, he stayed up.
Here I Am was awarded for best original song and it was one of the best songs in 2002.
10. You're Beautiful - James Blunt. There are a lot of James Blunt haters, but we can't deny that his music is really truly a
fine addition to nowadays music scene. And this song is one of his best works.
