Part 2 Professional Development Planning

I used several data sources to determine the professional development needs of Wakeland
High School to improve the integration of technology in our classrooms. While
analyzing our most recent STaR Chart, I discovered five immediate needs: Online
Learning, Professional Development for Online Learning, Models of Professional
Development, Number of Computers per Student, and Planning. Wakeland is currently
in the Advanced Technology Area on all four key areas. The Campus Improvement Plan
for Wakeland High School does not include objectives for technology, but Frisco ISD has
a tremendous Technology Vision with goals and the steps needed to achieve those goals.
The professional development plan provides online learning that is convinient for
teachers and prepares them for collaborative planning that will occur before the school
year begins. To help utilize our resources, we will develop technology projects across
multiple curriculums. This will allow the integration of technology in more classes
without having to increase the number of computers we currently have on campus.
