This week’s highlight – Positions in Languages
The United Nations is one of the world's
largest employers of language
professionals. Several hundred staff work
for the Department for General Assembly
and Conference Management in New
York, Geneva, Vienna and Nairobi, or at
the United Nations regional commissions
in Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Beirut, Geneva
and Santiago.
In order to be considered as a UN
language professional, you do not need to
have a background in languages only.
Some recruits have experience in other
fields, including journalism, law,
economics, engineering or medicine. If
you are considering a career in this area,
