Vyapam scam was a
massive
admission and
recruitment
scam involving
politicians, senior officials
and businessmen in the
state of Madhya Pradesh
in India
Introduction
 Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination
Board (MPPEB), popularly known by its Hindi acronym
"Vyapam", is a government body responsible for
conducting several entrance tests in the state.
 Entrance tests are used for recruitment to government
jobs and for admissions to educational institutes in the
state.
 The scam involved a collusion of undeserving candidates,
who bribed politicians and MPPEB officials through
middlemen, to get high ranks in these entrance tests.
The big conspiracy theory behind
PM Modi's silence
(FFF)Found First FIR
• Cases of irregularities in these entrance tests had been reported since
the mid-1990s, and the first FIR was filed in 2000.
• Bhopal: A Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday registered an FIR
against Governor Ram Naresh Yadav and 100 others in the Madhya
Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) or Vyapam scam,
sources said.
• However, until 2009, such cases were not thought to be part of an
organized ring. When major complaints surfaced in the pre-medical test
(PMT) in 2009, the state government established a committee to investigate
the matter. The commitee released its report in 2011, and over a hundred
people were arrested by the police. A Special Task Force (STF) was
established in 2012.
Massive scam
worth some (Rs6,300 crore) is
unfolding
While shady deals aren’t exactly unusual in Asia’s third
largest economy, the Vyapam scam or the Madhya Pradesh
Professional Examination Board scam is getting murkier and
scarier by the day.

 According to the whistleblower exposing the
scam, the following tricks were used by those
involved in the scam
VYAPAM MYSTERY
 A constable who was to appear as a witness in Madhya Pradesh’s examination and
recruitment scam case died of an ailment two months ago, the Special Task Force
investigating the scandal told a court on Wednesday.
 With the report of witness Sanjay Yadav dying, the number of ‘unnatural’ deaths in
the scandal, commonly called the Vyapam scam, has risen to 43.
 The STF submitted the death certificate of 38-year-old Yadav, a witness in the police
constable recruitment scam 2012-13.
 VYAPAM MYSTERY: CONSTABLE TO
APPEAR AS WITNESS DIED 2 MONTHS AGO
Shivraj Singh Chouhan Said…
 As per media reports Chouhan told the legal team that
if the SC wanted to monitor the CBI probe into the
Vyapam scam, then it must be conveyed that the state
had no objection to it.
 Rohatgi executed the CM's legal strategy to the hilt
and the SC appreciated the MP government's stand.
Many lawyers present in the court were surprised by
the stand and felt that by this, the Chouhan
government would be able to deflect a lot of political
criticism over the Vyapam scam.
