This document provides an overview and evaluation of various visual, text, and audio analysis techniques developed by the LinkedTV project for analyzing hypervideo content. It describes approaches for shot segmentation, face detection and recognition, video concept detection, audio analysis including speech recognition and fingerprinting, keyword extraction and named entity recognition, and video event detection. For each technique, it discusses the state-of-the-art, the LinkedTV approach, experimental evaluations comparing it to other methods, and conclusions. The goal is to select the most appropriate analysis methods for enabling continuative and related information to be linked to videos.
