This document is a poem titled "Starry, Starry Night" that describes the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh. It discusses Van Gogh's struggles with his mental health and how others did not understand him. It describes the colors and scenes he captured in his paintings, including starry nights, flowers, and landscapes. The poem ends by saying that even though Van Gogh's love was true, others could not love him, so on a starry night he took his own life as lovers often do.

Don Maclean was inspired by the paintings of Van Gogh to write this song. If you know
a bit about the life the Van Gogh, you will understand the meaning of the lyrics. Van Gogh was suffering from manic depression and went insane towards the end of his life. Nobody appreciated his paintings when he was alive. This is a beautiful song. Enjoy it.

A Jim Rupe production of Don McLean's hit song of the 1980's, "Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) with a backdrop of Vincent van Gogh's art..."Perhaps they'll listen now..."
"For several years, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam played the song daily. A copy of the sheet music is in a safe beneath the museum, along with a set of van Gogh's paint brushes, the that he used while painting Starry Night and various other items.
It is rumored that Van Gogh's painting of the 'Starry Night' was painted during the time he was in an asylum and that he sold only one
painting during his lifetime as he was not recognized. That's perhaps what caused him to fall into an abyss of depression which eventually led to his suicide."
